Smiling Hospital Foundation In Hungary Announces Charity Gala
Dr. Albert Royaards, founder of Smiling Hospital Foundation, announced at a press conference that they are holding a charity gala for the foundation March 1, 2014. Smiling Hospital Foundation (SHF) was created in 2004 in order to help children being treated in hospitals for longer periods. The mission of the foundation is simple yet wonderful. Children generally, and naturally, have aversions towards hospitals and treatments. They become sad and melancholic in the hospital environment. This makes their healing more difficult.

SHF is now working together with several hospitals in Hungary and many more around the world, including neighbouring and Asian countries. SHF works with volunteers to make hospitalised children happy. Their activities include playing with children in the hospitals and singing and playing music. Many artists have volunteered for the foundation to decorate the wardrooms of the children to make the grey walls colourful, happy and more familiar.

Countess Éva Csáky-Bornemisza, also founder of SHF, emphasised the three main aims of the foundation.

Psychological strenghtening of the children is really important as thoughts can make things happen. If they feel better they heal faster. Changing the  environment is also a very important factor as the imposing white spaces of hospital buildings are rather terryfying for children. For this many artists have volunteered for decorating the walls and ceilings of wardrooms. And last but not least, as the Countess said “If your soul is happy your face is nice”, so making children (3) happy is inevitable.

Intercontinental Hotel Budapest gives place for the foundation’s Charity Gala being held March 1, 2014. All the income of the gala will be spent accordingly to the mission of the foundation. The gala will include live auction, where one could bit on Rubik’s Cubes bearing the signature of no other than Mr. Ernő Rubik, and also the well-known raffle or “tombola”.
The theme of the gala is the Brazil Carnival with good Brazilian music and carnival dancers.

The show is provided by the Brazilian Cultural Centre Budapest and the registered guests of the evening can participate in a free of charge samba class one evening before the gala. The famous Hungarian mentalist Danny Blue will also attend the event to read the minds of all the gathered. So everything is prepared for a wonderful evening and a great opportunity for raising for charity.
