The infrastructure development of nature presentation locations at Királyrét and in the Ipoly valley were realised within the framework of the Hungary-Slovakia Cross-border Cooperation Programme 2007-2013.
At the closing event of the project that was begun in October 2012, the Ministry of Rural Development's Deputy State Secretary for Environmental Protection and Conservation András Rácz explained that the visitors' centres are being developed using a "gateway approach": they are gateways to a certain natural area, about which they provide information, presenting its natural and cultural heritage.
Government Commissioner for Pest County Richárd Tarnai pointed out that the Government had launched a programme to renovate Hungary's network of tourist houses, which are important to provide everyone with the opportunity to enjoy and become better acquainted with nature.
