Hungary To Tap 100% Of EU Funding
The government undertook 9,000 billion forints (EUR 29.1bn) worth of European Union funding for the 2007-2013 period, 10% more than the framework allocation, Nándor Csepreghy, the deputy state secretary in charge of development policy communications, said on Monday.

Hungary will have thus tapped 100% of EU monies in the period, he told a press conference in Budapest. Last August the Prime Minister’s Office began to reorganise the institutional network for development policy, including simplifying tenders and easing administration.

Last year the government paid out 14% more than the 1,500 billion forints originally earmarked for projects, which included 350 billion forints paid out for projects under the New Széchenyi Plan in the month of December alone, he said.
