Irish Craic In The Making In Budapest

The Irish-Hungarian Business Circle is organising an Irish festival this weekend, joining Ireland’s iconic Saint Patrick Day celebrations worldwide. Festival-goers will get to see a green-hued procession, do some jigs and fill their bellies in Instant Klub, in central Budapest, on Sunday afternoon.
Punters can work up an appetite for Irish chowder and Irish beers by taking place in dance classes, and as many as fifteen bands will play traditional Irish music, organiser Anna Banka of the business organisation told MTI.
The event has become central Europe’s biggest such celebration, with more than 1,400 participants last year, she added.
The focal point of the series of events this year will be the Instant Klub, as the popular Beckett’s Pub has closed its doors after many years.
