Hungary’s Official Election Results To Be Available By April 25, Says Committee Head
The National Election Committee will announce the non-official results of the general election late on Sunday, after the majority of votes are processed, but the final, legal results will be available only by April 25, the committee’s head told Magyar Nemzet.

András Patyi said the committee has until the 19th day after the election date, at the latest, to establish the final results of the national election list. As a result of the expected requests for legal remedy, it is likely that the final result will not be available earlier, he added.

Results from the 106 individual constituencies will be established by the local election committees and fragmentary votes will also influence the national final result, he said. Late on Sunday, the election office will release figures based on the processing of over 90% of the votes.

However, votes submitted at Hungary’s foreign representative offices and the votes of those that go to the polls at a different location from their registered address will only be available by April 12, the earliest, he added. Patyi pledged that the formation of queues at the voting booths reported four years ago would not happen this year.
