Foreign Students Flock To Semmelweis Medical Uni In Budapest
Semmelweis University of Budapest is popular both in Hungary and abroad, with the number of Hungarian medical applicants at certain departments exceeding the quota by five times, with around 10,000 applications for 1,000 places available to international students, daily Magyar Nemzet says.

University rector Ágoston Szél told the paper that international students pay 5-6,000 euros per semester, average by European comparison, yet the level of training is exceptionally high.

Most international students arrive from German-speaking countries and there are many from Scandinavia, Iran and Cyprus.
