BFO On The Stairs – Music And Raspberry Juice On The Night Of The Museums In Budapest
The Night of the Museums event series will again open with the stairs concert of the Budapest Festival Orchestra. Iván Fischer and his orchestra will perform on 21 June, Saturday, at 6 pm, on the stairs of the Museum of Fine Arts on Heroes’ Square. The musicians will serve up raspberry juice, and an annual pass may be won at the raffle for the Festival Orchestra’s next season. Also, the BFO are looking for 50 persons who have never been to a concert: they’ll have the best places, on the stairs!

The Night of the Museums will again get under way with a special event, the free surprise concert of the Budapest Festival Orchestra. Art and music lovers can enjoy the stairs music of the BFO outside the Museum of Fine Arts on 21 June, at 6 pm. Two years ago Iván Fischer and his ensemble opened the Night of the Museums with the shortest concert in the history of the orchestra. Those who were there will confirm that the BFO can enchant their audience even in the course of 15 minutes.

This year the orchestra takes up the “challenge” of 50 such people who have never listened to classical music at a live event. They will have places reserved near the conductor’s podium, so that their first experience of classical music can be as intimate as possible. Send applications to the marketing@bfz.hu email address.

Surprise concerts are an old tradition with the Budapest Festival Orchestra: on these occasions, the programme is revealed only shortly before the baton is raised. Apart from the programme, this will be no guessing game though: considered one of the world’s best symphonic orchestras, the BFO can be trusted not to disappoint!

In addition to the music, the orchestra will pamper its audience with raspberry juice, and there will even be a raffle. Stickers will be distributed at the event and earlier around the city, which will double as the raffle tickets. The prizes include tickets for Iván Fischer’s opera The Red Heifer, and BFO Cards worth HUF 5000. The top prize is a season ticket for two for the 2014/2015 concerts of the orchestra.

Further tickets and vouchers await those who fix the sticker on themselves and post a selfie at the Facebook page of the BFO.

In addition to the venue, stickers will be available at Rózsavölgyi Zeneműbolt, the Museum of Fine Arts, and the free concert of the BFO on Budapest Day, held on Margaret Island.

Meet us on 21 June, Saturday, at 6 pm, on the stairs of the Museum of Fine Arts, at the opening of the Night of the Museums.
