The international stars arriving to VOLT Festival give the organizers a challenging task with all their requests. 25 luxury microbuses and 8 cars are waiting for them at the Vienna airport every day to take them to Sopron. On the weekends also 2 helicopters will be on duty, so everyone can get to the stage in time. Many of the performers will stay in Sopron overnight and the crew of Hurts will also stay in the city to check out the Arctic Monkeys gig next day.
One would think that extreme requests are mainly coming from the headliners, but not in the case of Arctic Monkeys. The best band of the year only asked for 3 grilled chickens, figs and mint candles. In contrary, Steve Aoki asked for an inflatable boat and 10 huge cakes – of course we know why….
Live Stream is back at VOLT Festival! 11 international and 28 Hungarian acts will definitely be live streamed online with the support of Telekom. You can check them on www.voltfest.com and ustream.tv/telekom-volt2014. The live stream of VOLT was followed by a record number of viewers last year. This year 18 cameras will operate on site.
Enhanced comfort and guarded lockers
The organizers of VOLT Festival are paying a lot of attention to enhance the comfort and safety of their guests. Therefore this time more nice and clean toilets will await the festival-goers and hundreds of security guards will make sure everything is ok on the site. However, we would like to ask the campers not to leave any valuables in the tents, instead to put them in the guarded lockers.
The camping area is capable of hosting ten thousand persons, while there will be 500 toilets and 100 shower facilities on site. Of course organizers also take care of VOLT Festival guests with disabilities, so they will have separate special toilet and shower facilities at many points of the event.
Sopron - City of Stars
Those arriving to Sopron can already find 21 chairs on the public squares of the city of Sopron. These specially designed and made chairs by artist István Ef Zámbó have been signed by world-famous musicians in the last couple of years, like Iggy Pop, Faith No More, Hurts, Thirty Seconds to Mars, Prodigy or Skrillex. Anyone can sit in these chairs and have a photo with them. If you do so you should definitely share it on Facebook and Instagram. This year Arctic Monkeys, Steve Aoki, the Foals, Morcheeba and Bring me the Horizon can receive the gift of VOLT, later exhibited in Sopron.
In Hungary, GreenFestival campaign debuts at VOLT Festival. Festival-goers will receive a GreenFestival bag when they get their FestiPay card, against a mandatory deposit of 500HUF. The ones who gather and return their waste will not only get back the deposit, but also receive a certificate of merit and a T-shirt coupon worth 500HUF. The aim of this campaign is to show the audience that they are the source of action when it comes to saving the environment.
