Prosecution Investigators Start Probe Based On Vida Defamation Lawsuit

In a statement, Imre Keresztes, the investigating prosecutor, said that the penal code states that “significant harm can be caused if defamation takes place before the general public and if someone spreads or uses an expression which refers to facts which defame someone before the general public...”
“The crime of slander can be committed though the expression of unfounded allegations or true facts. If it is stated that someone is “corrupt” or “has committed corruption”, this can tarnish someone’s good name irrespective of whether the statement is true or not,” the statement said.
