P&R Facilities In Budapest To Cost Ft 2bn
Some 20,000 park and ride (P&R) places must be available to motorists before a congestion fee for driving into central Budapest can be introduced, mayor István Tarlós told HírTV Wednesday evening.

At present the number of parking places is 4,000-5,000.

He said eight to ten P&R facilities could be built from the resources already available or promised by the government.

Tarlós estimated the cost at Ft 2 billion in EU funding.

City council yesterday approved a Ft 1.4 billion public procurement tender for building a P&R facility for 490 vehicles on unused tracks at Kelenföld train station.
