Tax Officer Killed, Another Seriously Injured In SE Budapest

A tax officer was stabbed to death while his partner was seriously injured in southeast Budapest. According to a joint statement from the economy ministry and tax authority NAV, the two officers were doing their job when they were attacked.
Ambulance staff were unable to save the life of one of the officers, while the other was rushed to hospital in a critical condition. Police detained the perpetrator.
The Budapest police said on its website that the attack took place in a block of flats in Budapest’s 20th district and the suspect, a man aged 35, was detained at the site.
