Vác FC Match Report: A Rare Loss For NB3 Promotion Hopefuls
- 19 Mar 2015 11:50 AM
What came next was out of character from the visiting side, after a lack of composure subsequently losing control of the match, Vác began to make their own mistakes. This resulted in Farkas bringing down a player through on goal, a penalty was awarded to ESMTK: Müllerlei converted the spot kick (1-1)
Then immediately after the break, Murinai passed into space and Sebestyén headed the hosts second goal of the day (1-2)
Vác FC kept trying, creating many chances and coming close on a number of occasions but ESMTK were resolute in defending, in particular, their experienced goalkeeper.
Although it is true that the referee cannot score goals, he can unfortunately have detrimental affect on the game. As Vác FC headcoach Csank János mentioned after the match, the referee had double standards throughout the 90 mins and let so much slide for the home team. So it was just too much for Vác FC, a team who played poorly anyway. The referees biggest mistake which could have affected the result, was when after 60 minutes Zsolnai Richárd was hit by ESMTK’s defender in the face. This player did not receive his marching orders. He did not even get a yellow card, which is incomprehensible because the visitors were awarded a free kick for this situation.
Vác FC ultimately lost this game by a fine margin. The league pace setters remain 5 points clear at the summit after matchday 18.
