Budapest To Host Global Telecom Conference In October
The UN International Telecommunication Union will hold its annual conference in Budapest this autumn, Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó told a meeting of ambassadors and diplomats. The minister signed an agreement on organising the ITU Telecom World conference 2015 in Budapest from October 12 to 15 with ITU General Secretary Houlin Zhao.

The conference, to be held at the fair centre Hungexpo, is expected to attract 5,000-6,000 participants. Its main themes are digital city and digital home, but 5G solutions and Big Data opportunities will also be addressed, Szijjártó said.

Zhao said the ITU, which is celebrating its 150th anniversary this year, plans to focus more on small and medium-sized enterprises as well as on boosting support for innovations and developments.
