The beautiful Baroque building of the Archbishop’s Palace in Veszprém Castle serves as the background and natural setting for the concerts. The location – far from the noise of cities – greatly contributes to creating a unique, intimate and friendly atmosphere for visitors.
4 years ago the Rosé, Riesling and Jazz Days were organised for the first time as a complementary event, displaying the excellent range of products by the Balaton-area winemakers and local artisan meals to the accompaniment of the music by young players from the Hungarian jazz scene for those longing for further gastro-cultural experiences. The musical programmes of the Rosé, Riesling and Jazz Days are free of charge. The high-standard programme serves as a worthy complement to the large-scale productions.
Again from the summer of 2011 the other accompanying event of VeszprémFest is the program series organised in the Jesuit Monastery. This uniquely inspiring sacral space can accommodate 120 people at a time and offers programs of different musical themes from year to year for visitors.
Our mission has remained unchanged since the beginning:
VeszprémFest should become a musical frontier-fortress of world-standard musical productions, a home – even if only for one or two days – for the stars who are also at home on the world stage and, of course, these few days should become more and more important entries in the diaries of festival, culture and music fans from year to year. A few days that you must spend here, a few days here in Veszprém.
