Hungary will lift a ban on lorries from its roads this weekend due to the current heat wave that could pose a risk to truckers’ health, the national development ministry said. Under normal circumstances, vehicles over 7.5 tonnes would be banned from Hungary’s roads from 3pm on Saturday to 10pm on Sunday. Hungary’s chief medical officer has issued a third-degree heat alert in effect until midnight on Sunday.
