Refugees Close Hungary's M5 Motorway
A section of the M5 motorway in southeast Hungary had to be closed yesterday afternoon when a crowd of 200-250 refugees began walking towards Budapest after fleeing a Röszke detention centre. Police provided an escort and eventually persuaded them to be taken to reception stations in buses. A Syrian woman attempting to escape threw a piece of concrete at a police officer in Röszke on Wednesday, but he was not injured. Proceedings were launched against the woman.

Calm prevailed at the Röszke collection point on Wednesday evening, local website delmagyar.hu reported.

The asylum seekers do not understand why they must be registered in Hungary, as neither Greece, Macedonia nor Serbia tries to record them, website vs.hu adds.

They do not want to stay in Hungary as their goal is to reach Germany.
