Literary Titbits: Peter Crawley, Brody Studios Budapest, 24 February
"Another Peter Crawley hit! This sequel to Mazzeri holds your attention from the first page to the last... very gripping story full of twists and turns along the way." Amazon

…Arriving on the unspoiled island of Lipari, off the coast of Sicily, Ric Ross carries with him a letter of introduction to Valeria Vaccariello, an aging star of Italian cinema who lives alone in the House of Strangers; a woman known locally as la strega – the witch. Ric is also befriended by Il Velaccino, a sailmaker who seems to know everyone and everything that goes on in the island. But when a politician is shot dead, Ric’s search for his family’s history soon grows into a quest to prove his innocence...

Peter Crawley was born in Chiswick, London in 1956. He was educated at Cranleigh School, England, and the Goethe Institut in Freiburg-im-Breisgau, Germany. Upon leaving full-time education and after a short period in the army, he worked in Stuttgart, Germany, as a translator and on luxury motor-yachts around the Côte d’Azur and the Northern Mediterranean.

In the early 80s he started his own business dealing in contemporary and classic Mercedes-Benz in London’s West End. Thirty years later he has returned to writing full-time. Through the 1990s he raced historic sports cars and formula single-seaters at home and abroad. His interests include his family, writing short stories, obituaries and biographies, research for his writing, and skiing.

He is currently finishing his next and fourth novel, The Truth in Fiction, a collection of nineteen short stories collated over the last ten years. Ontreto, set in the Aeolian Islands just to the north of Sicily and the most recently published, is the stand-alone sequel to Peter's first novel, Mazzeri. Boarding House Reach, his second novel, tells the story of five residents of a guest house on the Norfolk Coast and how their lives are intertwined. Mazzeri was nominated for The American Library in Paris Book of the Year Award 2014.
