Clark Tér Hotel Construction Starts
- 11 Apr 2016 9:00 AM
Union-Clark Ingatlanfejlesztõ, a project company owned by construction firm Market Építõ, has begun construction of a hotel on Clark Ádám tér at the Buda side of the Chain Bridge. Businessman István Garancsi, a friend of Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, bought Market Építõ two years ago.
The National Savings Fund building designed by 19th-century architect Miklós Ybl that once occupied the site was destroyed by a bomb in World War II.
A café operated in the ruins until the 1990s. Since then the site has sat empty.
Unione-Clark will give detailed information on the project soon, CEO Ferenc Kokas told Népszabadság.
