During the above-mentioned periods, replacement buses are operating between Svábhely and Széchenyi-hegy, Gyermekvasút. Between Széll Kálmán tér M and Svábhegy, buses 21 and 21A are recommended. Transportation of bicycles is allowed on the replacement buses as well as during the works also on buses 21 and 21A. Between 9 and 12 May, the road crossings at Eötvös út and Mátyás király út will be refurbished.



Information on fares

The regular fares of the cogwheel railway apply to the replacement bus. The cogwheel railway is not replaced on its full length.

Instead of tram 60 (cogwheel railway), buses 21 and 21A (between Svábhegy and Széll Kálmán tér M) and trams 56, 56A, 59, 59A, 61 and buses 22, 22A, 222, 91, 155, 156 (between Széll Kálmán tér M and Szent János Kórház) and bus 5 (between Széll Kálmán tér M and Városmajor) qualify as replacement, thus necessary transfer does not qualify as journey interruption.

Passengers with single tickets (also with those of blocks of 10), please remember to revalidate your tickets at the other end after transferring between the replacement bus 60 and the replacement services below and:

• from/to buses 21 and 21A to/from replacement bus 60 (at Svábhegy)
• from/to trams 56, 56A, 59, 59A, 61 (at Széll Kálmán tér)
• from/to buses 5, 22, 22A, 222, 91, 155, 156 to/from buses 21 and 21A
• bus 5 (between Széll Kálmán tér M and Városmajor)

After transferring, please revalidate your validated ticket at its other end-without the number grid- (you have to tear the individual slip from the block of ten tickets). No revalidation of the transfer ticket with the number grid on both ends is needed when transferring to the replacement bus or to the tram, since the transfer ticket is provided with number grids on both sides which is already validated previously regardless of the replacement or will be validated when transferring later on.

Since buses 21 and 21A can be taken in replacement of the cogwheel railway, two transfers with a third boarding might be needed. In this case, twice-validated tickets cannot be validated once more. In possession of the ticket validated first on the replacement line, and twice-validated on bus lines 21 and 21A, passengers can travel on bus line 5 between Széll Kálmán tér and Városmajor, on tram lines 56, 56A,59, 59A and 61, and on bus lines 22, 22A,222,91, 155, 156 between Széll Kálmán tér M and Szent János Kórház.
