Pop-Up Film Club, Budapest Pont, 14 May
Pop-up Film Club is a randomly organised event where we watch great films at Budapest Pont. Entry is free, all are welcome! Bring your own food and drinks (and maybe share some of it too)! Feel free to stay and chat (or fight for the remaining popcorn) after the film.

Our next screening will be Detention. The film will be in English with Hungarian subtitles.

"There's a lot of the film that is downright beautiful in terms of composition, and somehow, even with a plot this unbridled and crazy, there are moments of actual humanity. "Detention" is the sort of film that will either entertain you relentlessly, or irritate you to the point of anger, and I don't think there will be much middle ground. I was surprised how much of it clicked for me, and how confident it all feels." (Source: Drew McWeeny/HitFix)

"Detention is a film that is, to me, undeniable. I think it’s possible to dislike a film of this type - everybody has different tastes - but there’s no way to deny that what Kahn is doing here is exploring the next stage of pop filmmaking, that he’s making a film completely in tune with the world around us. It’s a movie of and about recycled culture, it’s a movie that jumps from idea to idea with the speed of a teen clicking browser tabs, and it’s a movie that is deceptively self-aware. It’s also funny and often exciting and always looks incredible." (Source: Devin Faraci/Birth. Movies. Death.)
