Later writers who wrote lyrics for her included Françoise Sagan, Jacques Prévert, Francois Mauriac and Albert Camus.
She also attracted the attention of the director Jean Cocteau, who offered her a role in the film Orphée, bringing her huge success at the age of 22. Of her contemporaries, Gréco was particularly fond of Jacques Brel, continuing to sing his songs after his early death.
Parallel to her singing career she became known as a movie actress, performed in theatre and worked on a poetry programme for radio. On tours of America and Brazil, her fans celebrated her as the "Queen of the Existentialists” and the "Muse of„Saint-Germain-des-Prés.”
In 1982, she released an autobiography under the title Jujube, later also published in Hungarian by the Gondolat Publishing House. The book naturally also deals with her sweeping TV success Belphégor.
The legendary artist will be accompanied on accordion by her regular musical partner.
