Hungary To Change Forestry Laws To Tackle Climate Change
The government plans to make changes to the forestry law with the aim of increasing the area of woodland in the country and planting species which can adapt to climate change, the farming minister told public radio.

Sándor Fazekas said provisions in the planned law aim to foster the management of privately owned woodland.

“From the point of view of climate change, there should be as many forests and as much woodland as possible,” the minister said.

A further aim is to obstruct the spread of invasive species, he added.
