Govt Awards HUF 6.4 Bn For Solar Power Plant Projects

The government is providing support of 6.4 billion forints (EUR 21m) to a unit of Hungarian energy company MVM to build two solar energy plants, according to the official gazette Magyar Közlöny.
Hungarowind Szélerőmű will receive 3.2 billion forints for a solar plant in Oroszlány, near Budapest, and 3.1 billion for a plant in Felsőzsolca, in north-eastern Hungary.
Together, the plants will produce almost 155,000 gigajoules of renewable energy a year and reduce emissions of greenhouse gases by some 42,000 tonnes each year.
