Electronic Emergency Call System For Cars Presented

The eCall emergency call system, designed to reduce response time in road accidents, was presented in Budapest.
The system automatically forwards the vehicle’s location and data to the emergency dispatch unit if it detects an emergency, such as the opening of an airbag, the interior ministry’s deputy state secretary for informatics said.
Passengers can also dial emergency dispatch number 112 directly by pressing the eCall button on the dashboard, Károly Hajzer said.
From April 2018, EU regulations require all new cars sold in the EU to be equipped for an eCall system.
