September on Lake Balaton brings a gentler pace, but the region’s cultural calendar remains as lively as ever. From September 10 to 12, the National Dance Theatre presents the 24th Keszthely Dance Panorama, drawing some of Hungary’s top performers and choreographers to the western shores of the lake.
From 18 to 20 September, the gently rolling hills of Tállya will once again transform into a vibrant community space. Those who have attended any of the past ten editions of the Kerekdomb Festival will likely be returning this year, while first-time visitors will find a welcoming atmosphere and a rich line-up of cultural events.

Sziget Festival attracted around 350,000–360,000 visitors this year, well below its target of 400,000 and down from the 416,000 who attended last year's six-day event. Founder Károly Gerendai says the festival now needs to “move forward to break free” from a model that has become increasingly difficult to sustain.
