Kerekdomb Festival in Tálya, Hungary, 18 - 20 September
- 16 Apr 2026 1:59 PM
Although summer hasn’t even begun yet, those who like to plan ahead can already secure their place at this distinctive, multi-arts season-closing event. The festival blends the relaxed mood of summer gatherings with the more intimate feel of early autumn.
Nature-focused activities are a key part of the experience, including guided vineyard walks, as well as opportunities for active relaxation such as running, cycling, or even rowing on the Bodrog River. Altogether, it offers a chance to slow down, connect with the surroundings, and mark the end of summer in a memorable way.
For those who prefer a more informal way to explore Tállya, the ever-popular wine passport is an excellent option. This year, it gives access to tastings at 24 local wineries. As you wander through the village streets, you’ll also come across a wide range of pop-up cultural happenings along the way.
The festival spans all artistic genres. In addition to the previously announced performers, it has now been confirmed that Saturday night will feature a headline concert by Quimby, bringing the summer concert season to a close.
On Sunday afternoon, the main stage at Vincellér House will be dedicated to theatre, with Momentán presenting its improvisation show Főhős.
For those seeking something more reflective, performances by Nóvé Soma and Sándor Csoóri Jr., as well as biankahaidu, STAiR and Flanger Kids, will offer a more contemplative atmosphere. Meanwhile, anyone looking to let loose can head to Szűcs Winery, where Sierra Delta will host indie disco nights on both Friday and Saturday.
Hungary’s well-known names in contemporary music will also appear at Palota Borház, where Bongor, LIL 404 and Pavilon will cater to hip-hop fans, while Kacaj and Várhegyutca invite audiences to enjoy lively world music. Lóci Játszik, Lenkke., and Telehold will further broaden the musical palette, ensuring there’s something for every taste.
Concerts by Loophia and Fictional Heat will take place at Nyerges Courtyard, and—unusually—the Tokaj Art Wine Barka Gallery will also host live music, featuring performances by Franny, as well as Reni and Boka.
The same venue will present a programme evoking the spirit of Géza Bereményi, performed by Anikó Für and Róbert Hrutka. Dorottya Udvaros will read from works by Endre Ady and János Pilinszky, while Imre Csuja and Gabriella Hámori explore themes of faith in a joint performance.
The Evangelical Church and the Community House will also join the festival programme. At the church, the BenOla Guitar Duo will perform Renaissance and Baroque pieces, alongside students from the Béla Bartók Faculty of Music at the University of Miskolc, including a flute ensemble and cello students, as well as a collaborative performance by faculty members and their vocal students.
The Community House will host a series of theatre productions, including the monodrama A Latabárné fia, directed by Zsolt Győrei, János Lackfi’s Medveles, and Lassan by Márk Márfi performed with Ildikó Tóth.
Musical highlights will include songs from one of the world’s most iconic musicals, Hair, performed by Árpád Zsolt Mészáros, Dávid Péter Cseh, Márkó Gábor, and Bernadett Becz.
Families are well catered for too. At the Mailloth Castle, younger visitors can enjoy Ringató sessions, children’s yoga, a concert by Kazulka, and the interactive Zenebatyu programme.
The venue will also screen a selection of competition films from the Malter Travelling Film Festival, and host a musical literary performance by Dániel Varró and György Molnár.
Exploring Tállya’s smaller courtyards reveals even more to discover. The Alkotóház offers craft demonstrations and hands-on activities, while Lindengarden Gasztro Porta combines local flavours with folk music concerts by the Flirt duo and the Rézeleje Fanfárosok.
Wine cellars across the village will welcome visitors with tastings and food experiences, and the castle garden will host a range of artisans presenting their unique handmade products.
Visual arts also play an important role throughout the weekend. Munkácsy Prize-winning painter László feLugossy and graphic artist Ádám Lévai will present solo exhibitions, Hello Wood will showcase an architectural installation, and works from the 2026 Tállya Artists’ Colony will be exhibited at the Tokaj Art Wine Barka Gallery.
Set near what is often described as the geometric centre of Europe, Tállya makes for an ideal late-summer getaway. Between 18 and 20 September, visitors can immerse themselves in a unique mix of community spirit and cultural experiences before heading into autumn recharged.
Tickets are already available on the Kerekdomb Festival website.
