Hungarian National Bank Spends HUF 900 Million On Paintings
The MNB is buying more paintings for a total of Ft 890 million in its Value Treasury programme, the central bank announced on Tuesday.

MNB will acquire the ownership of Holy Family with Washer Woman by French artist Sébastien Bourdon (1616-1671) for €250,000, Dusty Road by Hungary’s Mihály Munkácsy (1844-1900) for Ft 500 million, and eight portraits by an unknown artist of famous Hungarian personalities for €400,000.

The MNB has completed the purchase of 14 paintings by Lajos Vajda (1908-1941) for Ft 181.5 million.

These 14 artworks are stored in the National Gallery.
