Hungary Buys Hotel Ships Costing HUF 1.5 Billion For Tisza Lake
State boating company Mahart has bought 20 hotel ships from French manufacturer Nicols, government commissioner Máriusz Révész announced on Tuesday.

The first ship delivered will be presented at the Travel Exhibition in February. Ten ships will arrive this year and a further ten next year.

Révész underlined that the vessels cost a total of Ft 1.5 billion, within the previously set budget of Ft 1.6 billion.

The hotel ships will travel on the Tisza River, where Mahart has begun building ports.

The boats will be tested in the summer and commercial activity will start in the summer of 2020.

Two bicycle ferries were inaugurated on Tuesday in Tiszaderzs (Northern Great Plain region of central Hungary) at Lake Tisza, the country’s second largest lake. The two ferries will not only allow the full circumnavigation of Lake Tisza, but also shorter sections of the lake, so that elderly people and families with small children do not have to miss out on the experience of cycling at Lake Tisza, Turizmus.com reports.
