The European Commission continues to share many of the concerns expressed by the European Parliament in its 2018 reasoned proposal triggering the Article 7 procedure against Hungary, the European Commissioner for democracy, justice and the rule of law said in Strasbourg.
The Tisza Party has 48% support among decided party voters and Fidesz is at 39%, according to the latest survey conducted by the Publicus Institute in November.
Even though Hungary has secured an exemption from US sanctions, Brussels is still banning Russian energy imports from 2027, Viktor Orbán said on Tuesday. "They want to pursue the war and sanctions," the prime minister wrote on Facebook.
Klara Dobrev, the leader of the opposition Democratic Coalition, is filing a report against an unknown perpetrator as she said it was "obvious that the Orbán government may have been spying on Europe for Russian President Vladimir Putin".
