The media and telecoms authority NMHH fined Magyar Telekom Ft 10 million, because the company repeatedly rejected a subscriber’s request to have a phone number transferred to a new service provider, without proper grounds, it was announced on Tuesday.
The NMHH levied an additional Ft 1 million fine on an executive of the company because the telecom company repeated the rejection.
Magyar Telekom appealed against the ruling, arguing that the request to transfer the number to Vodafone was rejected because the address of the subscriber that was given by Vodafone differed from the official address registered by authorities.
