Cinderella, Ballet Performance @ Erkel Theatre Budapest, 22 April
Ever since the 18th century, the Mariinsky Ballet Company, which is in its 236th season, has been inseparable from the history of European dance, and since the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, they have given the world some of the greatest stars of the genre.

While being committed to preserving the classical traditions, the Mariinsky is also open towards the latest trends in dance, and has collaborated with such choreographers as William Forsythe, Angelin Preljocaj, Sasha Waltz, Wayne McGregor, and Hans van Manen.

The simultaneously classical and boldly experimental choreography of Prokofiev’s wonderful fairy tale ballet, the work of the Russian-American Alexei Ratmansky, was presented by the company in 2002.

In close cooperation with Valery Gergiev, Ratmansky studied the deep strata of the music to create his concept. To this day, the production is one of the Mariinsky’s most successful productions, which they continue to keep on the repertoire.

The performance is not recommended for viewers under the age of 12.
