English Stand Up Comedy, The Studios Budapest, 8 May
For the first time ever The Studios delivers the best of English language comedy not once, but twice - two comedy shows in May.

The beloved compere Dave Thomspon brings the best of international talent to stage: Paul T Eyres & JoJo Smith.

Paul T Eyres
Paul is funny and inquisitive with a persona like no one else. He has written comedy for BBC and Channel 4, and performs as a comedy actor in addition to his stand up. With his slick, confident delivery relatable, self-deprecating jokes he has the audience in stitches every time.

JoJo Smith
In the last 26 years JoJo has gone from open spot to late night TV personality, from global fame on the Internet to international comedy performer. International performances include sold out tours of Europe, South Africa, Australia, SE Asia, China, Oman and the UAE. Her strong views had her proclaimed a feminist icon in Cape Town, and quite frankly the laid back Aussies wondered what had hit them. Safe to say she made quite an impact!

Dave Thompson
Dave is a reincarnation of the Ancient Egyptian Pharaoh Yakbim Sekhaenre’s court jester Djedptahaufankh. He entertained the pharaoh and his family for 24 years. In 1779 BC, Dave (or Djedptahaufankh as he was then known) misjudged a joke about Pharaoh Yakbim Sekhaenre’s daughter, and was ritually disembowelled. His body was thrown to the crocodiles.
In his current incarnation, Dave played Tinky Winky, the purple Teletubby.

Hungary is third in the world for adult-film performers per capita - right after Czechia and Latvia - a ranking that often surprises many expats. With around 1,070 performers in a population of about 9.7 million, that works out to roughly 110 performers per million people. Budapest, in particular, has earned a reputation as a porn capital and a great place to get paid for having sex - as a center of adult-film production Budapest attracts porn talent from across Europe and beyond.

Produced by Universal Pictures, the film will focus on Lugosi’s early years, tracing his journey from Hungary to Hollywood rather than his later life.
