Hungarian Cup Final To Be Held In Puskás Aréna On 3 June, Behind Closed Doors

The resumption of domestic football after a 70-day absence due to the COVID-19 pandemic was marked by the first legs of the Hungarian Cup semi-finals taking place behind closed doors and under strict conditions to safeguard participants' health.
The second legs take place on 26th May, a week after which the 110th Hungarian Cup final will be held - at 20:00 CET on Wednesday 3rd June.
This will be the first cup final to be organised in the brand new stadium and will definitely feature one capital-city club (either Honvéd or MTK) and one club from the countryside (either MOL Fehérvár or Mezőkövesd).
This will be the 28th time the Hungarian Cup final has been held in Hungary's national stadium, the first 15 occasions having been at various points between 1955 and 1979 in the Népstadion.
The 1980s saw the final held there on five occasions ((1983, 1985, 1986, 1987, 1989) before a break of 11 years until the year 2000 edition.
The proceeding years saw the final staged in the renamed Ferenc Puskás Stadion six more times 2003, 2004, 2010, 2011, 2012 and finally 2014 when Újpest defeated Diósgyőr in a penalty shootout in front of 22,000 fans.
