Hunguest Hotels Announces Re-Openings In Hungary
Hunguest Hotels, part of holding company Opus Global, yesterday announced the re-opening of two of its spa hotels on Friday.

The company will re-open its hotels in Szeged and Mátraháza - pictured above - with limited services and in compliance with strict health protection measures, as well as its own Covid Code for staff and guests.

Hunguest is offering special discounts for bookings during the Pentecost holiday weekend.

The company’s hotels in Egerszalók, Hajdúszoboszló, Gyula, Bükfürdő, Zalakaros and Nyíregyháza will be operational from May 29 and its spa hotel in Tapolca is expected to re-open in the middle of June.

The dates for re-openings will be subject to the lifting of restrictive measures on public baths, the company said.

Hunguest brought forward a planned renovation of 14 hotels during the lockdown, CEO Miklós Gál said in an earlier interview.

At the end of April, the company announced mass lay-offs from May, affecting 50% of the staff.

Opus shares have lost 24% of their value this year, in line with the decline of the BUX index.
