The Hungarian government will provide HUF 125bn of funding and the European Union HUF 175bn, he added.

Hegyi said the line would be completely renovated by 2029, including the tracks, power supply, safety equipment, overhead lines, stations, passenger information system, lighting and ticket machines, and new trains are arriving.
 

These trains will be single-space, low-floor, air-conditioned ones, he added.
