Chancellor Sebastian Kurz announced on Wednesday that special attention is paid to arrivals and buses coming from the Balkans via Slovenia and Hungary.

Some 1,800 police officers are deployed to handle the situation.

Kurz pointed out that the daily increase in the number of new infections has repeatedly exceeded 100 recently.
