Funds Withdrawn From Priority Sports In Hungary
The Ministry of Human Resources has withdrawn Ft 5.7 billion in funding from 16 Olympic sports, writes 24.

The news website asked the state secretariat for sport whether the funds were withdrawn due to the economic effects of the coronavirus pandemic, and exactly which items were crossed out when, and to what extent.

According to the reply, there is a 20% reduction in funding, taking into account some of the cancelled tasks related to organising foreign training camps, and the cancellation of international competitions.

The ministry reduced state support for 16 Olympic sports by a total of Ft 1.7 billion, while the Ft 7.980 billion allocated for developing sport facilities for priority sports has been reduced by almost half.

Those affected were notified on April 20.

In detail, this means the following reductions: swimming gets Ft 1.062 billion instead of Ft 1.328 billion, kayak-canoe Ft 728 million instead of Ft 920 million, wrestling Ft 620 million instead of Ft 775 million and athletics Ft 608 million instead of Ft 760 million.
