Hungarian National Bank & Police Raid Unauthorised Currency Dealer
The MNB has fined Budapest-based financial service provider Hanifa Ft 25 million for unauthorised currency dealings.

The company acted as an intermediary for similar services for a savings co-operative until last summer, then continued its operations after its license expired.

MNB officials working with Budapest Police carried out covert transactions as part of an on-site inspection.

The MNB considered it an aggravating circumstance that the company was aware that its business activity was subject to a license.
