Dramatic Rise In Covid-19 Infections In Hungary
Another 292 coronavirus infections were registered on Saturday, the highest daily figure since the start of the epidemic, well exceeding the 210 figure of April 10.

The current figure almost doubled the 158 new infections registered on Friday.

The number of Covid-19 infections registered each day has been rising for a week, but the number of dead remains practically unchanged, national chief medical officer Cecília Müller noted on Sunday.

Müller explained the low mortality rate with the fact that the virus is mostly spreading among young people, and so the illness is typically mild.

Most of the newly registered infected people contracted the coronavirus at house parties or wedding celebrations or in some closed space, János Szlávik of the South Pest Central Hospital told HírTV on Saturday.

Szlávik advised young people that if they are in a closed space, then they should observe social distancing and wear masks, as they are particularly exposed to virus infection in such an environment.
