Traffic Accidents In Hungary At 64-Year Low
The number of people killed in traffic accidents dropped to near 450 in 2020, the lowest figure since 1956, deputy National Police chief deputy Zsolt Halmosi told an online press conference on Thursday.

Stressing that final data will be available only at the end of January, Halmosi said about 450 people died in road accidents last year, nearly 150 fewer than in 2019.

A total of 13,745 accidents resulted in personal injuries last year, a 17% drop from 2019.

There were declines of 20% in the number of deadly accidents and 25% in the number of fatalities last year and about 4,000 fewer people sustained injuries than in 2019.
