The Budapest Zoo and Botanical Garden is rolling out an extensive late-night lineup on 28 August for the 15th annual Night of the Zoos. Running from 7:00 PM until midnight, the late-night event features 20 designated activity hubs spread across the grounds, combining live animal demonstrations, stage performances, interactive exhibits, planetarium shows, and a nostalgia-filled amusement park zone.
From major zoos with extensive international collections to smaller wildlife parks with a more local character, there is a wide choice of places to see fascinating animals and botanical gardens around Hungary.
The government will introduce a ban on acquiring, breeding, keeping, training, displaying or using specified wild animal species and hybrids in circus performances from Jan 1 2027, government spokeswoman Eva Magyar said.
An urban oasis in Budapest's Biodome has just been unveiled, which showcases tropical and subtropical plants, as well as rare animal species, has finally opened to the public - you can see inside via the 'hobby video' below.
