Two German Women Attacked at Football Match in Budapest
Two German women say they were physically assaulted for going to the Puskás Arena wearing rainbow-coloured hats and for painting rainbow-coloured flags on their hands at the Portugal-France football match on June 23, German newspaper Bild reports.

Police on Sunday arrested two suspects – a 55-year-old father and his 25-year-old son.

The two women, identified only as Emilia and Filippa, are German medical students studying in Budapest.

They said two men punched them in the face and spat on them.

They said they had asked UEFA security staff for help, but the staff did not intervene.

The German newspaper published photographs of the incident.

The two women felt they were not taken seriously at the police station either and they had to wait until 4 a.m. before they could file a complaint.

The two students said this was the first time they experienced anything like that in Budapest, where they have spent years and where they generally feel good.
