Massive Christmas Tree Goes up in Front of Parliament in Budapest
A silver pine weighing 4 tons arrived from Nemesvámos, Veszprém County to Budapest on Tuesday to be set up in front of Parliament.

The 18-meter-high tree was cut down with the help of experts from the Veszprém County Disaster Management Directorate.

It was then carefully lifted onto a special transport vehicle belonging to the Army Military Transport Center, secured with a specially-designed net and heavy straps.

Tied to a low-built semi-trailer, the pine tree ended up being 4.1 meters high and 5 meters wide during delivery, making it considerably oversized.

As a result, the tractor had to be preceded by road closures and accompanied by a special police escort as it carried its load toward Budapest.

The tree arrived in Kossuth Square during the night, where firefighters helped to set it up in front of Parliament with a crane.
