Tax Free Fringe Benefit for Bicycle Use in Hungary

Bicycles can be provided by employers to be used by their employees as tax-free fringe benefit from January 1, Napi reports.

Electric rollers are not included in the tax-free option but both traditional and electric bicycles are.

It is only the use of bicycles that is tax-free. The company must own them, and the vehicles cannot be donated to the employees.

The bikes can also be used by close relatives of staff members.

The private use of cars provided by employers is still taxed.
