Trademark Registrations Hits Decade Record in Hungary
There were 4,192 trademark registrations filed with the Hungarian Intellectual Property Office last year, the highest number since 2012, the office said on Friday.

Most applications came from pharmaceutical companies (Egis, Richter), the government (Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Hungarian Tourism Agency), and several other Hungarian companies, such as WeLoveShirts and Lajvér Borház.

Mineral water maker Apenta claims the oldest trademarks in Hungary, dating back to 1899.

Richter registered the name of the popular painkillers Tonogen and Kalmopyrin in 1902 and 1910 respectively.
