University Partners With Businesses to Develop Wastewater Treatment Process
Hungary’s Pannon University has developed a process for treating wastewater with high nitrogen content in a project with companies Taravis and Fekete, the consortium said.

The process uses less water and is cheaper than other methods used to treat industrial wastewater, while complying with the strictest water quality requirements.

The process, adjusted using sensors, can be used in the meat, pharmaceutical, artificial fertiliser and waste management industries.

An industrial-scale prototype of the system is being set up that can serve further R&D.

The project was supported with 753 million forints (EUR 2.1m) in European Union funding.
