Aldi Opens First Climate Neutral Shop in Eger, Hungary
Aldi has opened its first climate neutral shop in Hungary, in Eger, the retailer’s first outlet in that town, the subsidiary of the German retail chain announced on Thursday.

The new unit of nearly 1,450m2 will be one of the largest Aldi shops in Hungary, with parking for 145 vehicles and an electric charger for e-cars.

The air conditioning system and the re-frigerators inside the sales area operate with climate-neutral substances, and the shop us-es only green electricity produced domestical-ly.

“With the opening of our new store, we have created about 25 jobs in Eger. In addition, a number of Heves county companies are our suppliers, such as Stühmer and the Ostoros winery, so our customers can also find many local products”, said Aldi Magyaror-szág CEO Bernhard Haider.
