Spar to Use Wolt and Cut Staff in Hungary After Online Shop Restructuring
Retail chain Spar has laid off dozens of employees following the company’s decision to migrate its online store to food delivery platform Wolt from the end of March, Telex reports.

Spar told the online news site that it has offered other positions within the group to more than 60% of the 133 staff.

The retailer also informed local labour authorities and its in-house trade union that it will ensure support for affected workers, said communications director Márk Maczelka.

The restructuring follows comments from Spar Hungary CEO Gabriella Heiszler, who recently acknowledged that, like its sector peers, Spar has struggled to operate its online retail business profitably.
