Major Newspaper in Hungary 'Magyar Hírlap' Suspends Print Edition
Publisher Magyar Hírlap Kiadói announced yesterday that it is suspending the publication of the print edition of Magyar Hírlap indefinitely from July 11.

Adverse economic surroundings and “war inflation” have put the publisher in a difficult position, the announcement said.

The online version of the newspaper will continue to be available on the website magyarhirlap.hu.

Writers and columns favoured by readers will continue to be accessible.

The publisher, owned by right-wing businessman Gábor Széles, thanked readers for supporting Magyar Hírlap for such a long time.

Subscribers will be notified by mail about alternative options.

The decision leaves Magyar Nemzet and Népszava as the last two classic political daily newspapers in the country which are still in print, Telex observes.
