Specialist Warns of Covid Revival in Hungary
More attention has to be paid to the coronavirus in Hungary than to the monkeypox, virus researcher and veterinarian Miklós Rusvai warned in a statement.

Experts say another epidemic looms in the autumn, when new coronavirus infections could reach 10,000 daily.

The monkeypox is another infection that has slipped out of control, Rusvai said. This disease will not achieve pandemic levels since it spreads through very close bodily contact, he noted, adding that this is why the World Health Organisation is considering classifying the monkeypox as a sexually transmitted disease.

“Hungary is not one of the severely infected countries, so attention here should instead be paid to the spread of the coronavirus,” he said.

The use of face masks will probably be recommended in several places and it may even be made mandatory, he continued. Hungary is in an ascending stage, so something is beginning again, he added.

Hospitals, including institutions in Hatvan and Salgótarján, are imposing bans on visits due to the rising number of Covid cases.

According to the latest data,10,255 new coronavirus cases were reported in one week, while 40 deaths were reported.
